Found in the montane forests of South-West Bolivia and North-West Argentina, the Tucumán Amazon (Amazona tucumana) is listed as vulnerable with a world population ranging between 10,000 - 20,000 birds, due to habitat loss and the wild bird trade. Known for being noisy and fearless, the  Tucumán Amazon is generally found in flocks of about 200; however, they have been spotted in massive flocks of up to 10,000 at one time -- almost the entire population of an area!
